Mack reaches agreement with UAW employees
LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. — Mack Trucks has struck an agreement with United Auto Workers (UAW) workers to keep the lines moving for the next three years.
About 3,700 UAW workers are covered under the agreement, working out of Mack facilities in four states.
“With this agreement, Mack and the UAW have demonstrated their commitment to maintaining an effective working relationship, and meeting the needs of our customers,” says Mack president and chief executive officer, Paul Vikner. “Beyond helping us meet the current economic and market challenges the truck industry is facing, this agreement will help to position us for continued growth when the market rebounds.”
Terms of the contract took effect on Oct. 2 and will carry through until Oct. 1, 2004.
