OTA to hold ACE seminar June 14
TORONTO, Ont. — The Ontario Trucking Association has organized a full day seminar June 14 on how to use U.S. Customs’ Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).
Carriers will learn how ACE will change their processes for crossing the border. It will also provide carriers with take home knowledge on how they can integrate ACE into their operations for greater efficiency and certainty in crossing the border.
What will be covered?
* How carriers sign up for an ACE account and what are they signing up for.
* ACE rollout schedule for US Ports of Entry bordering Ontario.
* How and why ACE will make border clearance more efficient and accountable.
* Who are the ACE account representatives that carriers can contact?
Carriers’ will be guided through all aspects of the ACE program including:
* EDI Component — What is it and how does it work? How carriers’ can get involved.
* Web Portal — Get a detailed operational overview of how carriers’ can use the portal.
* Service Providers — Who are the service providers and what role will they serve?
ACE Service Providers and Software Vendors will be on hand to provide a brief description of the services that they offer. Carriers will also be able to get perspective on how ACE is working during presentations from Brown Line and Celadon, both of which are currently using ACE to clear freight in Blaine, Wash.
Cost to attend: Ontario and New York trucking association members $300/person; all others $600
