Report suggests streamlining highway approval process
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A new report in the U.S. suggests that streamlining the highway approval process will get vehicles rolling on new roads much quicker.
The report, entitled Cooperative Environmentalism: Safer Roads and a Better Environment, was penned by former director of the Federal Highway Administration’s environment and planning office, Kevin Heanue.
Heanue insists that highway project approval can be completed faster and more effectively if qualified state agencies are given authority to ensure that federal environmental laws are met.
The American Highway Users Alliance has copies of the report available, and they can be obtained by calling 202-857-1200.
