NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ont. — The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada’s 2008 conference will take place at Queen’s Landing hotel in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake on June 19-20.

“The wine country of Niagara-on-the-Lake has become a popular location for our annual conference,” said Bruce Richards, president, Private Motor Truck Council of Canada. “Queen’s Landing is one of the beautiful area hotels. It’s a departure from the usual convention hotel atmosphere. The hotel and the area combine to offer a number of amenities that add to the value of the conference for attendees and spouses alike.”

The announcement also marks the beginning of awards season for PMTC, which is now accepting entries for its awards programs. Each year the PMTC teams with member companies to celebrate the best in trucking by presenting awards in several categories.

PMTC & 3M Vehicle Graphics Design Awards Competition recognizes fleet operators and graphic design companies who graphically enhance their vehicles. The competition is open to all Canadian fleet operators. Awards are presented in six categories: Tractor Trailer Combination; Straight Truck; Special Events/Promotion; Night-Time Safety, Light Duty Commercial Truck, and Fleet Identity Graphics.

PMTC & CPC Logistics Hall of Fame for Professional Drivers recognizes superior over the road performance of drivers employed by PMTC members.

PMTC & Zurich Private Fleet Safety Awards recognize the private truck fleets most committed to safety improvement, especially where they exceed National Safety Code requirements. This competition is open to all Canadian private truck fleets. PMTC membership is not a requirement.

The awards will be presented during the PMTC annual conference. Conference agenda, speakers, competition entry information and other details will be available at www.pmtc.ca soon.
