AMTA’s Safety Alert program looking for examples
CALGARY, Alta. – The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) is asking carriers to submit information about avoidable accidents they have experienced in hopes other people can avoid similar incidents. The AMTA will be circulating Safety Alert Bulletins to its members that outline accidents that have occurred in the industry. The association hopes it will make readers more aware of potential hazards.
The AMTA says all submissions will be kept anonymous and only general information pertaining to the accident will be circulated. No personal or company names will be divulged.
The Safety Alert program was launched by the AMTA in June.
“The purpose of these Safety Alerts is to help educate management and employees (through the experience of others) about the potential hazards that exist in the workplace,” the association says.
To submit information about an accident, contact Sandy Arseneault at 403-214-3428 with the: Date of incident; age of employee; job title of employee; circumstances of incident; and outcomes.
