Meyers wants you to get educated this weekend
BELLEVILLE, Ont. — Now that school is in full swing, it’s time for everyone to buckle down and start learning.
This coming Saturday, Meyers Transport wants everyone to get educated on safety and what it’s like to be behind an 18 wheeler.
Meyer is hosting an event where adults and children of all ages can climb inside a tractor-trailer and see what drivers don’t see when they’re on the road.
The event is to promote safety in the months of September and October when the most school children are hit and injured by vehicles.
Meyers makes a note that truck drivers have less visibility and more trouble seeing their surroundings than motorists and pedestrians, so they are welcoming interested patrons a chance to ask truckers questions and even sit in the driver’s seat.
The event is taking place September 20, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 376 Wallbridge-Loyalist Road in Belleville, Ont.
