Shippers amour Armour

TORONTO — One of Atlantic Canada’s best known truckers was honored by a group of Canadian shippers.

Wes Armour, president and CEO of Amour Transportation Systems, was named the 2009 CITA Supply Chain Executive of the Year. He was given the award at the annual Transpo trade show last week.

Armour oversees the management of 3,400 vehicles and numerous facilities, including a new multi-purpose, $15-million site in Dartmouth, N.S. He is also chair of the Atlantic Gateway Advisory Council.

In a letter of thanks to CITA, Armour said he felt "very privileged and proud" to receive the award.
