Two Brampton, Ont., men charged after 72 handguns found in tractor-trailer
Two individuals from Brampton, Ont., are facing weapons trafficking charges after 72 illegal handguns and 66 prohibited devices were seized from a tractor-trailer last month.
In February, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Border Drug Interdiction Task Force began an intelligence-led investigation into alleged cocaine trafficking, according to a news release.
On Sept. 11, investigators identified a northbound tractor-trailer linked to the ongoing investigation, originating in Toronto. The tractor-trailer was subsequently stopped at a Ministry of Transportation inspection station near Temiskaming Shores, Ont.

A search warrant was executed on the tractor-trailer, leading to the seizure of the handguns and devices. Preliminary tracing results from the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario-managed Firearms Analysis and Tracing Enforcement Program indicate all handguns originated in the United States.
Balraj Singh, 31, has been charged with 72 counts of weapons trafficking and possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine. The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto on a later date.
Kawalbir Singh, 21, has been charged with 72 counts of weapons trafficking. The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto on Oct. 22. The charges have not been proven in court.

Blame the Liberals. Or better yet the people who voted for them. They squandered billions of our tax dollars aggravating legal gun owners for decades while illegal smuggling went unchecked. Now it’s out of control.
Send them back and out of canada
It is to the point that when I see these articles about big arrests, I wonder how many times the name Singh will be mentioned within.
This one didn’t disappoint. It was mentioned twice this time.
There seems to be a pattern here…
I wonder if Gary is trying to find how these guns entered Canada. Were these guns brought to Canada over a lake or river? Rather than blowing money on Gary’s gun buy back how about looking into lakes and rivers where it is easy to smuggle guns into Canada then seal that hole. Once these gun runners are convicted, send them back from where they came. Lets not waste a ton of money giving them a vacation in our slammers.
Who do these drivers work for? Please identify the carrier. Does this carrier do detailed proper background checks, criminal record checks, work referencing, or do they just pencil whip this part of the recruiting process?
