Road weight restrictions lifted in NS
HALIFAX -- Weight restrictions in eight Nova Scotia counties are being removed today. The province's Transportation department has announced those counties as Halifax, Hants, Kings, Annapolis, Digby, Yarmouth, Shelburne, Queens and Lunenburg. Individual roads in those counties could still be posted for lower weights, however. Restrictions will also remain in effect in the rest of the province until further notice.
Quebec Trans-Canada fixes nice, but APTA wants twinning instead
DIEPPE, N.B. -- The new executive director of the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association says that while he appreciates yesterday's announcement between Quebec and New Brunswick to upgrade portions of the Trans Canada and Route 20, he would like to see La belle Province to make a stronger commitment to twinning its share of the major highway.
