Great Dane recognizes top suppliers

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Great Dane recently hosted its second annual Supplier Summit, recognizing some of its top suppliers.

“The strong performance of suppliers helps Great Dane maintain its position as a leader in the transportation industry,” said Bob Brege, vice-president of procurement. “The Supplier Summit is a way for us to honor our suppliers and recognize the outstanding work they do for us all year. They truly are partners in our effort to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of goods.”

Winners included: Valspar Corporation in the safety category, Mid Plains Industries in the quality category and Hendrickson in the cost savings category. Hoosier Tank and Manufacturing received the award for small supplier of the year and MidWest Material received the award for large supplier of the year.

New Process Steel was presented with an excellence in innovation award. It recognizes the supplier with the most innovative, short-term business solution, Great Dane announced. New Process Steel won for helping Great Dane optimize its steel purchases and significantly reduce costs.

“We will continue to bring challenges to our suppliers in the hopes of finding creative solutions that bring value in new and interesting ways,” said Rick Mullininx, executive vice president, engineering.
