Assistant editor Adam Ledlow has been given additional responsibilities as web editor. In this important new appointment Ledlow will be responsible for enacting trucknews.com’s evolving online strategy. Over the course of the coming year, Ledlow will work with staffers Gary Fleming and Irene Fu (managers of web development) as well as web developers Benedict Fernando and Tara Woodrow to add several new functionalities to the site. Ledlow will also oversee trucknews.com’s new news strategy. Effective as of the start of the year, trucknews.com will be reporting 18 hours a day. News postings will be made three times daily – in the early morning, mid-afternoon and late evening.

Edo van Belkom, author of the popular fictional account of Mark Dalton: Owner/Operator, which appears exclusively in Truck News and Truck West on a monthly basis, was featured in a recent issue of Canadian Business.

The Brampton, Ont.-native caught the eye of the nation’s leading business publication with the release of Mark Dalton: Smart Driver, a government funded novel geared towards helping drivers willingly change their driving habits to pollute less and conserve more.

Editorial director Lou Smyrlis has accepted an invitation to be a keynote speaker at GPS.Net’s annual user’s conference in January. Smyrlis is also scheduled to speak on industry trends and Transportation Media’s latest research at the upcoming Cold Chain Management and Temperature Control Summit in February and Canadian Industrial Transportation Association annual conference in March.
