DUSSELDORF, Germany – Freightliner and Sterling parent DaimlerChrysler is again negotiating a possible takeover of Japan’s Diesel Motor Co.’s commercial vehicle business, a German newspaper reports.

The Daily Handelsblatt quoted “well-informed sources” in a report claiming that Nissan Diesel approached Daimler, and that the first result from the talks could come forward soon.

Daimler Chrysler ended a previous set of talks earlier in January when Mack Trucks parent Renault SA bought a 37 per cent share of Nissan Motor Co.
