TORONTO, Ont. – The June 30 deadline is nearing for post-secondary students interested in applying for the Ontario Trucking Association’s (OTA) Bud Barr Scholarship Fund. It provides financial aid to a child of a transport driver in financial need as the result of illness, injury or death of their over-the-road parent. $5,000 per year for two scholarships will be available. One award will be available to the child of a company driver, the other to that of an owner/operator.

Recipients will be based on need. They must be under 25 and enrolled or registered to attend a college or university on a full-time basis.

OTA is celebrating its 75th anniversary this fall with a great lineup of guest speakers and entertainers: Kim Mitchell, David Wilcox and Anne Murray will all share the stage between Nov 14 – 16.
