CHATHAM, Ont. – International Truck and Engine Company’s Chatham assembly line will be home to a new, heavy-duty truck beginning next year.

“We are hoping the new truck model will not only result in increased truck volume for our facility but will lead to increased employment opportunities,” Dave Boland, acting plant manager, tells local media.

While there are currently 823 workers employed at the facility, Boland hopes levels will eventually return to the 2,000-plus mark.

Plans call for the new model to make its debut in the fall of 2002. n
