Freightliner recall

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Almost 3,000 Freightliner tractors have been recalled by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after it was determined that leaky hubcap vents could result in wheel separations.

The recall covers 2,976 1999 and 1998 Freightliner-badged Century Class, Argosy, FLD and FLN trucks.

Dealers will remove the hubcap and inspect for water intrusion and corrosion. The hub and bearing assembly will be replaced, free, if there is evidence of corrosion.
