WINNIPEG, Man. – The Manitoba Trucking Association (MTA) is planning to examine “Success through Creative Leadership” at its 70th Anniversary Convention.

The milestone event is scheduled for Winnipeg from Mar. 14-16, at The Fairmont Hotel and Celebrations Dinner Theatre. This year’s convention will feature sessions on leadership training skills and a workshop on how to create brilliant ideas.

The convention event will begin with an informal welcome reception with the full convention program beginning on Mar. 15. This includes the annual general meeting, business sessions, keynote luncheon and the ever-popular associated trades social and casino evening.

Saturday begins with the special breakfast and open board meeting followed by the annual safety luncheon where Drivers of the Month and the provincial Roadeo team will be honored. At the same time, the winner of the 2002 Driver of the Year will be announced.

The convention concludes with the president’s banquet at Celebrations Dinner Theatre featuring the comedy production Live on Saturday Night and the presentation of the Trailmobile Service to Industry Award and the Maxim Transportation Systems Associate of the Year award. A special guest room block at $89 per night has been arranged at the Fairmont Hotel.

Members should contact the hotel directly at 204-957-1350 for reservations.
