ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – The province’s carriers can now start the ball rolling to get a copy of their Level 2 2001 Carrier Abstract over the Web quickly and efficiently. Available through www.carriersafetyrating.com, fleets of all sizes are encouraged to solicit the documents on the Internet and – after the report has been generated by the mainframe – Canada Post will take care of the rest.
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation insists it is going full steam ahead with a plan that will eventually allow the direct transfer of the information over the Web.
But they admit that for the time being, this is as automated as the process can get. n
