OSHA forced to call off trucker wheel chock fines

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will soon have to stop fining truckers for failure to place wheel chocks on their trailers. OSHA officials have been laying charges on truckers who don’t use the devices to prevent their trailers from rolling. However, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has informed OSHA officials that it does not have the authority to enforce wheel chock regulations, as it falls under the FMCSA jurisdiction. n
