Petroleum industry pumps out awards

EDMONTON, Alta. – The Petroleum Services Association of Canada has handed out its first annual Safe Driving and Carrier Safety Awards.

On the driver side, Floyd Ray of Firemaster Oilfield Services won the award in the category of Fire, Shower and Safety Services.

Randy Brodersen, a driver with Pe Ben Industries, won for General Oilfield Services. Ron Allan, with DC Energy Services, won for Rig Moving, and Kelly Snider, who drives for Computalog, won in the category of Wireline Services.

Honored carriers included, ICO Miller Oilfield Hauling who won in the category of one-to-five million kilometres, and Computalog, who won in the category of over-10 million kilometers.

The awards were handed out at a ceremony in Edmonton Apr. 17. n
