TORONTO, Ont. – Operators of a private truck fleet domiciled and incorporated in Canada still have time to enter the Private Fleet Safety Awards.

Fleets with a minimum of five power units of 4,500kg or more are eligible to receive the honors and recognition for contributing to road safety.

Applications will be accepted until June 30.

Since 1998 the Private Fleet Safety Awards have been honoring dedicated carriers. The award will be presented at the Annual Conference of the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada, as it is every year. Application forms can be obtained through the PMTC Web site, at www.pmtc.ca, or the Zurich Canada Web site, at www.zurichcanada.com.

An independent panel will do the judging and their decision will be based on the thoroughness of safety programs and proven effectiveness. Special attention will be paid to effort towards ongoing safety improvement. n
