Hi! My name is Lee Howard and I drive a gravel truck for C & A Nicholson Trucking out of Coe Hill, Ont.

I live in the small community with my wife Linda, our cat, Cootie, and our dogs Stinky and Ethel.

My father was a truck driver and he got me interested in the business at a very young age.

Spare time doesn’t really exist for me right now, because when I’m not driving my truck I’m at home operating my customization business, Inferno Kustom Werks.

I’ve read Truck News for as long as I can remember.

I’m not sure exactly how long I’ve had a subscription, but I’d say almost 20 years – ever since I’ve been going to truck shows and started filling out the forms to get it.

I even have some early copies from the 1980s kicking around my house.

I don’t really have a favourite column or section in Truck News. I pretty much just read through and look for things that catch my attention.

I like to keep up on what’s new in the industry, especially new regulations. I also love the coverage on the different truck shows throughout the year, obviously, because of my customization business.

One thing that I would like to see more of, which I can already see Truck News has started to do, is profiles on people, to see how they got started.

I like to hear about the smaller guys: the O/Os, the small fleet owners, and the people in “not-so-high” positions in the industry. Not everything has to be about a CEO or a fleet manager.
