REGINA, Sask. – The province of Saskatchewan has wrapped up an unprecedented summer of highway construction projects, but it’s not intent on stopping now.

For the second year in a row, a winter tender schedule for highway construction projects has been released, totaling more than $80 million, which covers 52 different highway improvement projects.

Highways and Transportation Minister, Mark Wartman says, “Having such substantial winter tender schedules in back-to-back years demonstrates the priority transportation is taking in our province.”

Releasing the schedule this early will allow road builders to begin bidding on jobs and planning next year’s construction season, he insists.

It also gives trucking fleets and O/O’s a chance to see what projects will take priority next year. This year, top projects include hundreds of kilometres of improvements.
