Skip The Slowdown
Booming freight volumes and improving operating ratios gave carriers on both sides of the border plenty of confidence to invest in new equipment last year. But many industry experts now believe truck manufacturers overpopulated the market and predict Class 8 truck sales will drop by as much as 20 per cent this year. Can the Canadian trucking industry, which grew by seven per cent last year, and is buoyed by the western world’s fastest growing economy surprise the experts and escape the slowdown?
