That was one expensive coffee!

Dear Editor:

Officials in St Quinton, N.B. are now cracking down on truck drivers who park on the side of the road on Hwy. 17 where the Tim Horton’s is. Now if you look carefully there are ‘No Parking’ signs.

However for the five years I have been driving, I have never had a problem until recently.

The signs have only been there for a year or so and I parked there one particular day and received a fine.

Normally you pay the fine and it’s over with, however the fine was $168 and two points off my licence.

Eventually I paid the ticket so I wouldn’t have to take more time off work.

I just wanted everyone to know about this because I know I am not the only one that stops for a coffee and/or a restroom break at this location.

I will echo the words of a few drivers I have talked to about this – the government does not want a truck driver to fall asleep but yet we can not stop for a coffee!

P.S. – I’m really looking forward to the next issue to follow up on Mark Dalton’s latest dilemma.
