BOSTON, Mass. – TransCore has introduced a new modem that extends the battery life of its trailer tracking products to up to seven years.

Previously, batteries required replacement after three years, preventing many customers from adopting un-tethered tracking applications.

Two new GlobalWave satellite data communications terminals have been introduced by the company, thanks to its new developments.

One can be used for basic tracking applications while the other enables tracking as well as monitoring with a full suite of sensors, the company says.

Both new terminals allow two-way communication between fleet operators and assets.

TransCore says its latest systems boast: faster response times of less than a minute; a low height profile making the unit more difficult to detect; the longest battery life on the market; easy installation; and seamless integration with leading transportation management software providers.
