WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta indicated to a Senate committee the issue of truck driver Hours-of-Service (H-o-S) could soon heat up again.

While addressing the Environment and Public Works Committee, Mineta said Joseph Clapp, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration boss, would likely make the decision to take another run at the political hot potato in, “four or five months.”

“We had a discussion on (H-o-S) last week and Joseph Clapp is taking a look at it,” he also reports to the federal committee.
