Bison adds another safety award to the trophy shelf

by Truck News

WINNIPEG, Man. — Bison Transport has won its fifth consecutive National Truck Safety award from the American Trucking Associations.

It won first place in the 2014 Safe Fleet Award competition, for recording the lowest US Department of Transportation recordable accident rate in the over 100 million miles category.

“This award recognizes that our drivers make decisions that keep themselves, and those we share the roads with, safe. We are proud of our people for their lead role in safe practices and management, especially our professional Drivers who play a major role in road safety,” said Garth Pitzel, director, safety and driver development.

This year marks the eighth time Bison has received the award.

  • Not surprised. Had privilege of working for Bison in early 2000’s and met Garth often. Cool guy.
Bison always insisted on safety and legal compliance, and it made driving for them stress free. Congratulations to the whole Crew, from the Boss, Mgt., Trainers, Drivers , mechanics and all.!!
