BEAMSVILLE, Ont. — The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) is urging members to help the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to track down a transport truck involved in a fatal hit and run yesterday.

The truck involved in the collision, which occurred on the QEW westbound near Beamsville, Ont., was a white Volvo.

It’s suspected the truck has damage to the right front of the vehicle and on a 2’x2’ piece of fiberglass off the passenger side of the cab.

Anyone who sees a truck fitting that description should contact the OPP. Police say the truck struck the back of a van, which then veered off the road, hit a steel barrier and then rolled, killing an 11-year-old occupant and seriously injuring another seven occupants. The OPP can be reached at 705-329-6111.
