MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Polaris Transportation Group has named Jon Saunders CEO of Polaris Global Logistics (PGL).

Saunders already served as vice-president, finance for the Group and now will fill dual roles.

He joined Polaris earlier this year.

Saunders will be representing Polaris as a guest speaker, the company announced, beginning with a an engagement at the Cold Chain Global Forum in Boston on the topic of Creating North American Synergy – Leveraging Canada as a Gateway to the North American Market. He’ll also speak this year at a 3PL Summit in the Netherlands on Supply Chain Partner Collaboration – Improving Last Mile Visibility and Timely Delivery in Challenging Regions of the World.

“I’ve spent a lifetime in this industry and I can tell you Jon’s finance expertise is the perfect background to lead the charge at PGL, which is now in its 12th year of operation,” said Polaris president Larry Cox. “Refining a customer’s supply chain dynamic or representing a global partner here in North America are both financial discussions. We will continue with the foundational non-asset logistics elements that built the division, but we have been making investments in the business to better serve the dynamic needs of our multi-national corporation clients and will continue to do so.”
