Navistar board names Clarke chairman

LISLE, IL - Navistar has elected Troy A. Clarke, the company's president and Chief Executive Officer, as the latest chairman of the board. Clarke replaces the retiring James H. Keyes, in a shift that became effective at the company's annual shareholder meeting on February 14. Keyes has served as non-executive chairman since April 2013. General Stanley A. McChrystal (ret) was elected as an independent lead director. "It has been a pleasure to serve on the board for the last four years, and I am honored to have been elected chairman," said Clarke. "This is an exciting time for Navistar, as we pursue our growth strategies highlighted by significant new product launches and our pending strategic alliance with Volkswagen Truck and Bus.

The rise of autonomous vehicles

This year marked major milestones in the push toward autonomous vehicles. Freightliner unveiled a truck that could drive itself in Nevada. Daimler CEO talks growing share, struggling market

LAS VEGAS, NV - It's a tough market for truck sales these days, but Daimler Trucks North America president and Chief Executive Officer Martin Daum still sees a "light at the end of the tunnel" - and is setting firm goals for the year to come. Where Canadian Class 8 sales were up 6% in 2014 and 3% in 2015, they are down 24% this year. Daum expects 360,000 Class 6-8 trucks to be sold in the NAFTA region this year, down dramatically from 424,000 units last year, and even the 384,000 in 2014.
