Autocar unveils electric terminal tractor

by Today's Trucking

Autocar has unveiled an all-electric version of its ACTT terminal tractor, the E-ACTT, which will be available later this year.

The underlying electric powertrain and telemetry/diagnostic systems were designed by Vorza, supporting a temperature-controlled lithium-ion battery and onboard charging system.

From an operational standpoint, the new terminal tractor runs much like its diesel-powered counterparts, but the unit is much quieter, runs smoother, and generates zero emissions, Autocar says.

The OEM says features include premium insulation, a robust hydraulics system, a tractor-trailer auto-lock system, a four-point premium cab air suspension, and more.
