First Freight Matching Service in Canada to Offer a Fuel-Card Service
HARRISBURG, Pa. — TransCore’s Canadian-based Link Logistics now offers a Canadian fuel discount card to its carrier members.
The new Linkfuel card is accepted at more than 5,000 truck stops across North America, including all Flying J locations. The card will also allow carriers to save one to three cents per gallon off the cash price of fuel at preferred locations.
Linkfuel users will also have access to convenient online account management tools. Linkfuel is being offered to LoadLink customers through a marketing agreement with Transnet Communications.
As in the U.S., record high fuel costs are putting pressure on carriers in Canada and, in turn, creating higher transportation costs for business. In a recent Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce poll, 63 per cent of Canadian small business owners said that rising fuel prices had a negative impact on their operations in the past year.
“Carriers operate with tight profit margins that are being squeezed by high fuel prices. We are doing this with Transnet to help our customers stay competitive,” said Claudia Milicevic, general manager for TransCore’s Link Logistics.
The Linkfuel card is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and the program offers instant card maintenance via the Internet providing an extensive list of management reports to keep a customer informed of daily activity.
