AKRON, Ohio — Goodyear has made its popular Unisteel G338 tread design available as a UniCircle precured retread.

The G338 tread design features an aggressive drive position tread pattern with high-blade density providing excellent all-weather traction, the company says.

“It’s a highly engineered tire for tough applications that encounter high torque and scrubbing," said Richard Kirk, Goodyear retread product manager. “And the G338 features the same tread depth as a new tire and Goodyear’s exclusive 2015T compound for performance similar to new tire compounds."

Kirk added that unlike traditional retreading methods, the UniCircle uses a seamless vulcanized tread that’s snapped onto a buffed casing, laser-positioned and then precision-stitched.

"Because there is no seam, the tread is bonded perfectly to the casing, which gives the retread unmatched performance,” he explained.

The G338 is available for Class 7 and 8 trucks in drive and trailer positions. For more information visit www.goodyear.com/truck/services/unicircle.html.
