Ingersoll Rand unveils 3/8″ compact impact wrench
Ingersoll Rand has unveiled a new 3/8-inch compact impact wrench that features stronger internal parts and four forward power modes.
The W5133IQ Series impact wrench is seven inches long and features a tapered front end to help access fasteners in tight spaces. While the design is compact, it delivers 550 foot-pounds of nut-busting torque and 365 foot-pounds of maximum torque, Ingersoll Rand says.
The maximum power mode is used for tasks like tightening bolts on transmissions, axles and flanges – work previously requiring a pneumatic impact tool. Mid-power, wrench-tight, and hand-tight settings are available for tasks that require lesser forces.
Other features include a variable-speed switch and electronic brake, a brushless motor and impact mechanism, and a chip-on-board LED task light with four dimmable settings and a 360-degree ring of light.
The tool is available with a 3/8- or ½-inch square drive and weighs 5.3 pounds. The all-metal drivetrain and hammer mechanism delivers the power without adding weight, the company says.
The W5133’s 20-volt battery is compatible with the Ingersoll Rand IQ Series battery system.
