Kenworth will make its new 15-inch digital display standard equipment on Kenworth T880 and W990 trucks, building on a release that originally limited it to the T680 Next Generation.

The display can be switched between two minimized views, a basic view, maximized view, and driver-customized favorites view. Drivers scroll through the information using the standard Next Gen SmartWheel.

There are more than 50 different layout possibilities and more than 4,500 gauge combinations.

The minimized views show truck speed, tachometer and standard content in the header and footer. The basic on-screen content adds gauges, such as fuel, air, coolant and oil pressure. From there, the maximized view will show additional gauges specified on the truck – such as axle temperatures, torque, air filter, and brake application.

Vocational users can tap into a screen and tachometer for power take-off use, and monitor operational PTO rpms.

A trip summary is generated when drivers shut down the truck for the day, while the system can also offer driver performance assessments and coaching advice. Drive summaries wil deliver stats on fuel economy, idle time, cruise control use, and mechanical issues.
