LEHIGH VALLEY, Penn. – To celebrate its 100th anniversary in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania, Mack Trucks, Inc. is hosting a community open house from noon to 4 p.m. on Father’s Day – Sunday, June 19th – at its Assembly Operations located in Macungie, Penn. at the corner of Route 100 and Gehman Rd.

“This is our way of saying thanks to the local community for allowing us to make our home here for the past 100 years,” said Paul Vikner, Mack president and CEO.

The event is free-of-charge and open to all.

Attendees will be given the opportunity to walk a one-mile tour route through the plant, where all of the company’s construction and refuse trucks are produced. Antique and current Mack vehicles will both be on display. The Mack Shop, offering apparel, gifts and souvenirs, will be open. Complimentary hot dogs and soft drinks will be provided. And CAT Country 96 FM will broadcast live from the event.

Visitors who own bulldogs are encouraged to dress them up and bring them along – at 2:30 p.m., the first ever “Most Outrageous Bulldog Idol” contest will take place, during which, according to company officials, anyone who brings a “wackily attired” bulldog can compete for “fabulous prizes.”
