New Kenworth White Paper assists fleets and O/Os

KIRKLAND, Wash. — The new Kenworth White Paper on powertrain spec’ing provides comprehensive information to assist fleets and owner/operators make important decisions involving powertrain selections for Class 8 trucks.

"The Kenworth White Paper on powertrain spec’ing was developed specifically to provide useful information and recommendations on the new generation of heavy duty engines, transmissions, cooling systems, and related technology," said Steve Gilligan, Kenworth general marketing manager. "The goal is to help ensure maximum performance, fuel economy, and vehicle life-cycle costs for fleets and owner/operators."

The Kenworth White Paper features major sections on Cummins engines, Caterpillar engines, engine cooling systems, spec’ing considerations for powertrain lubricants, automated and manual transmissions, axles and drivelines, and suspensions and traction control options.

"There’s a lot to consider in making powertrain choices that have a direct impact on each truck’s productivity and profitability," said Gilligan. "We believe this Kenworth White Paper on powertrain spec’ing will help operators in their evaluation process and produce well-informed and wise buying decisions," concluded Gilligan.

The new Kenworth White Paper will be available for download at www.kenworth.com under "Learn How To Spec Your Powertrain Effectively" and also is available in printed form upon request from Kenworth dealers starting this month.
