NTTC issues third edition of cargo manual

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — National Tank Truck Carriers, the international association of the tank truck industry, has developed the 3rd edition of it Cargo Tank Maintenance Manual.

The revised edition includes all changes resulting from DOT Docket HM213 and all regulatory changes through June 2004. For the first time, the manual will be available on CD-Rom as well as in a printed version with over 250 pages and 30 graphics.

The manual was developed to help cargo tank maintenance facilities comply with 49CFR Part 180 and other Federal regulations governing the testing, inspection and repair of cargo tanks, and for training purposes. Separate sections cover all DOT400 and MC300 specification cargo tanks and non-spec food grade, hot-product, and dry bulk tanks. Printable test and inspection forms are included for all tanks. It also includes over 90 DOT “interpretations” and guidance documents to help shops comply with regulations. How to procedures are provided to ease record-keeping requirements.

The 3rd edition of the NTTC Cargo Tank Maintenance Manual is available in the printed and CD Rom version at $375 for NTTC members and $450 for non-members.
