MINNEAPLOS, Minn. — PeopleNet has announced its on-board communications platform is compliant with the new U.S. Hours-of-Service rules which came into effect over the weekend.

“We have been monitoring the government’s progress on the rules and have worked tirelessly to update our system so our customers wouldn’t skip a beat as the new rules went into effect and are enforced,” says Ron Konezny, chief operating officer of PeopleNet.

The company is also alerting its customers of the updates through its over-the-air programming feature.

“We are working to make the PeopleNet system update as easy as possible for every one of our fleet customers as they have many other issues to deal with regarding the new rules,” Konezny says. “We are the first, and to date, the only mobile communications provider that can deliver these, and any operating updates, to our customers wirelessly. That allows them to keep operating without experiencing any downtime.”
