SKOKIE, Ill. — The new 2005 edition of the Rand McNally Motor Carrier’s Road Atlas features thousands of map and trucking information updates all designed to save truckers time and money.

The atlas line includes the Motor Carrier’s Road Atlas, the Deluxe Motor Carrier’s Road Atlas and the Large Scale Motor Carrier’s Road Atlas.

"This atlas is a business tool that truckers need to renew every year to protect their bottom lines," said Robert Apatoff, president and CEO of Rand McNally. "It pays for itself by ensuring that truckers are prepared along their routes for critical points like weigh stations and low clearances or by preventing wasted time if a driver hkas to turn back from a newly restricted route."

Updated information on designated truck routes are highlighted on the maps for easy reference. All atlas buyers can download construction maps, from shoulder work to complete road closures. Further Internet integrated benefits include fuel tax charts giving quarterly International fuel tax association updates.

MileMaker and IntelliRoute transportation software proudcts are cross-referenced in the atlas to ensure more efficient routing.

Another new feature in the 2005 edition is this year’s revision of the FMCSA hours of service regulations.
