Sidekick Attachments unveils forklift-operated fifth wheel trailer mover
Sidekick Attachments, a subsidiary of Iron Bull Manufacturing, is offering forklift-operated fifth wheel trailer movers designed to let operators reposition trailers without chains or pins.
The hands-free, self-locking units are manufactured from heavy-duty steel and include an integral air compressor, the company said in a news release. Wide fork pockets allow easy entry and accommodate most fork positions.
When the forks are lifted, the fifth wheel locks into place to provide a guaranteed lock with no moving parts, according to the company. Forks must be properly inserted and not exceed 72 inches. Sidekick said using a forklift to move trailers can save time and money while increasing efficiency by eliminating the need to wait for a truck or yard tractor.
