RICHMOND, B.C. — SmarTire Systems Inc. recently announced the European availability of its tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for high pressure tires.

These high pressure systems are designed for use by buses, recreational and commercial vehicles. Maintaining proper tire inflation on large vehicles is important to maximizing fuel economy, tire life and the safety of the driver and cargo.

The high pressure products are being launched at Automechanika held in Frankfurt, Germany, September 14 – 19th. Automechanika is recognized as the most popular international trade fair for the automotive aftermarket and original equipment market with 70 per cent of its 4,000 exhibitors and 40 per cent of the expected 150,000 visitors originating from other countries.

“The impact of TPMS on large vehicles translates into solid and demonstrable cost savings and benefits to the owners and operators of these vehicles. Combined with the safety aspect of our products, these benefits have already generated considerable market interest in TPMS. SmarTire for high pressure tires such as buses, recreational and commercial vehicle applications will be aggressively introduced in the respective European markets," said John Taylor-Wilson, VP Sales & Marketing, SmarTire Systems Inc.
