WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — Sterling Trucks has announced an agreement with Heil Environmental to offer complete medium-duty dump trucks straight from the factory.

Customers can now choose from three popular spec’s and several options on the Sterling Acterra while ordering a Heil body at the same time.

These trucks feature the MBE900 engine and Eaton Fuller nine-speed transmission which have been specially-designed for the Class 6 and 7 markets in the U.S. and Canada, Sterling says. The trucks are also paired with a Heil SL 10-foot body in red or black complete with integral cab shields.

“We are very pleased to announce this new arrangement with Heil Environmental,” said John Merrifield, senior vice-president of sales and marketing for Sterling Truck Corporation. “This program gives our customers the truck and options they need at the best price and allows us to further enhance our vocational offerings.”

Available spec’s include a Class 6 Acterra with a 6.4-liter 250 hp MBE900 engine and an Eaton Fuller RT-8608L 9-speed manual transmission. In addition to the Class 6 option, two Class 7 spec’ packages are offered including an upgraded 23,000-pound rear suspension for increased durability; and an additional 12,000-pound front suspension for more durability and an optional 10,000-pound front axle and 23,000-pound rear axle.
