Continental Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket says its VDO RoadLog electronic logging device is an ideal solution for both new and old trucks. The ELD is compatible with mechanical ignition vehicles and those that pre-date diagnostic ports, the company announced. And it can be used with trucks that have the newer nine- and six-pin diagnostic ports.

This ability to customize the wiring configuration makes the VDO RoadLog an ideal ELD for customers with both old and new trucks, the company says, noting many current ELDs are only compatible with the newer nine- and six-pin wiring port configurations.

This flexibility will provide customers running older trucks to comply with the impending ELD regulations expected to be implemented in 2015, the company says.

“You can be sure that RoadLog has you covered, yesterday, today and tomorrow,” said Jeff Waterstreet, sales manager for VDO RoadLog. “VDO RoadLog features flexible software design that can be updated as HOS and electronic log regulations continue to evolve, ensuring you are always in compliance.”
