Volvo leasing system unveiled

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Volvo Trucks North America has created a leasing system to serve the trucking industry’s growing need for full-service truck leasing and rental.

The new Volvo system began operation this summer with 160 service locations across North America.

Through this system, Volvo Trucks offers a complete line of Volvo trucks and a full menu of highly customizable offerings, including contract maintenance, full-service leases, finance leases, and truck rentals. Volvo Truck Leasing System members also offer support services such as parts, tax service, tires, permits, licensing, fuel cards, road service, insurance and credit cards.

"Volvo customers now have a coast-to-coast leasing system with proven experience and support," said Terry Dubowick, director of VTLS. "We expect this system to expand as Volvo Trucks dealers with independent leasing operations recognize the value and opportunity VTLS offers both them and their customers."

Dubowick is also director of the Mack Leasing System. VTLS is initially comprised of the members of the existing Mack Leasing System (founded in 1987); 23 of these Mack dealers are also Volvo Truck dealers.

In addition to providing Volvo leasing and support, each location will provide service for both Volvo and Mack vehicles in the leasing system. Each VTLS location has factory-trained technicians backed up by comprehensive parts inventories.
Volvo Trucks North America assembles its Volvo VN and VHD trucks in the United States, at the New River Valley Plant in Dublin, Virginia.

Volvo Trucks North America is a member of the Volvo Group, a publicly held company headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden. With 2002 sales of approximately $20 billion, Volvo’s business areas include heavy trucks, buses, construction equipment, marine and industrial drive systems, aerospace, and financial services. In the United States, Volvo shares are listed on NASDAQ and are traded as ADRs (symbol: VOLVY).
