WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — Western Star Trucks has announced the sale of 40 Western Star 4900 SA tractors to L&H Trucking, Inc.

The vehicles were sold by Rivers Truck Center, the Western Star dealership in Red Lion, Pa.

“We are thrilled to welcome L&H Trucking into the Western Star family of customers,” said John Merrifield, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Western Star Trucks. “L&H Trucking is an important company in the distribution business, and with the support of Rivers Truck Center, we look forward to continuing the relationship.”

L&H Trucking is a high-profile truckload and LTL shipping company with locations in Hanover and Bloomsburg, Pa. Established in 1960, L&H is a mid-sized, family-owned and operated business that provides transportation and warehousing services throughout states east of the Mississippi, as well as some western states.

The purchase includes five Western Stars with 82-inch Stratosphere Sleepers and 15 Western Stars with 68-inch Stratosphere Sleepers – each equipped with Cat C15 engines; as well as 20 trucks with 48-inch sleepers and Cat C13 engines. All of the trucks incorporate Eaton 10-speed transmissions and Michelin X-1 tires. This purchase makes Western Star nearly one-third of L&H’s growing fleet.

The Rivers Truck Center is a 28-year-old dealership, and has been a fully operational sales and service dealer for Western Star for the past five years.
