Alert of possible terrorist activity

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The ATA and U.S. Homeland Security have issued a warning to carriers of a possible terrorist attack plan involving the trucking industry.

One of the areas of concern identifies the eastern Lake Erie region as being one of the potential areas of activity.

According to the alert, issued Dec. 9, reports of potential terrorist activity have frequently involved fuel and chemical tanker operations.

To report any suspicious activity in or around such operations, contact the Department of Homeland Security Coordination Center Watch toll free at 1-800-585-9078.
