FREDERICTON, N.B. — A truck driver who gained international notoriety for stealing a tractor-trailer full of Moosehead beer is out of jail.

Driver Wade Haines was charged for the theft of 50,000 cans of beer bound for Mexico last August. Most of the beer has not been recovered, even though the labelling was in Spanish.

Haines was sentenced to 19.5 months in jail. Moosehead Breweries had t-shirts printed up that read "Donde Esta Mi Cerveza?", Spanish for "Where’s My Beer?"

Haines must now live in a halfway house and abstain from drugs and alcohol.
