Winnipeg, Man. — Bison Transport today announced it has been approved for Canada’s Free and Secure Trade Program.

FAST is a joint Canada – U.S. initiative involving the Canadian Customs Agency, the U.S. Customs Service, Citizenship and Immigration Canada and the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. The program supports the movement of pre-approved eligible goods across the border quickly by verifying compliance away from the border.

The process is available to pre-approved carriers and importers, as well as registered drivers. Shipments for approve companies, transported by approved carriers using registered drivers are cleared into either the U.S. or Canada with greater speed and certainty, and at reduced cost of compliance.

With corporate headquarters in Winnipeg and driver terminals in Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton, Bison Transport has 650 new model trucks and over 900 full-time staff.
