CALGARY, Alta. — RoadCheck may have come and gone but a massive truck safety blitz continues in Calgary this week.

Yesterday the Calgary Police Service Truck Unit was patrolling Barlow Tr. near 114 Ave. SE where they were pulling over trucks. They were assisted by officers from municipal, provincial and federal enforcement agencies.

They did not comment on how many trucks were inspected or how many violations were encountered.

“We’re looking for for mechanical fitness, driver qualification, hours of service compliance, load securement, and transportation of dangerous goods compliance,” Sgt. Blake Somerset of the truck unit told the Calgary Sun.

The operation continues today with the officers patrolling two areas of the city throughout the day.
